This song was written in the days leading up to Christmas 2017. We were in Caraquet on the Acadian Pennisula of New Brunswick, where my husband Pascal is from and we have "un chalet" (such a fancy word for cabin!)... We were there for three months and Pascal decided to widen our driveway there, starting in November. He was fighting the impending ground freeze-up and inevitable snow dumps so he was spending 16 hours a day in a rented excavator in the mud, clearing trees with our family car, slogging and mucking to make the ground drain properly, day and night for a month and a half... When Christmas Eve rolled around and he was still out there, needless to say the baby and I were starting to get a bit lonely at home. This song goes out to anyone missing their loved ones, or wishing they had more time together this holiday season.
